Synopsis
Reversal! tells the exciting and thrilling story of “CRAPS,” the ground-breaking invention of Ravi Kumar and Caitlan Mariko. CRAPS, which stands for Carbon di Oxide Recapture And Processing System, is a briefcase size self - contained device powered by an ultra-efficient built in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack. It inhales dirty carbon dioxide laden air, extracts the odious gas from it and exhales oxygen rich air back into the atmosphere – much like trees and plants do in nature.
But CRAPS does not stop there. It then takes that carbon dioxide and using some well-known chemical reactions processes it into synthetic fuel for use in vehicular transportation or for generating electricity.
And Reversal! tells the gripping tale of the people behind CRAPS. People like Dr. Omar Makram on sabbatical from Cairo University, Dr. Robert Baldwin an Oxford trained British chemist from Stanford, Dr. Clara Hughes – an authority on Li-ion batteries and one of the first African- American tenured professor from Georgia Tech., Regina Jackson – the olive-skinned engineer from United Motors who has fallen for the handsome British chemist and the many scientists and researchers at the Materials and Climate Research Institute who have dedicated their lives to the cause.
